Making Oobleck in English class

Have you ever made Oobleck in English class?

EFDM students made Oobleck, which is a non-Newtonian substance. The Oobleck has qualities of a solid and a liquid at the same time.

Why did we make this in English class?

Students finished reading Bartholomew and the Oobleck by Dr Seuss. They also finished a short creating writing activity inspired from the book. After that it was time to make Oobleck!

Below is the recipe of you would like to try this at home. If you do, make sure to squeeze it, pat it, and pull it! Have fun!

Oobleck Recipe:
6 cups cornstarch
3 cups warm water
Food coloring of your choice

Mix well and enjoy!
